USATD recently visited SITA S.A., a women-owned and locally run cashew processing company established in 1980, during ongoing engagements across West Africa.
The company’s operations have evolved over time from cashew cultivation into processing, while remaining locally owned and managed — a notable distinction within the regional cashew sector.
During the visit, the USATD team toured the facility and met with management, as well as representatives from local producer cooperatives. These discussions highlighted long-standing supplier relationships, operational practices at origin, and a strong focus on food safety and process integrity.
The engagement provided useful perspectives on how community-rooted processors are contributing to the development of resilient and sustainable cashew supply chains in Côte d’Ivoire and across West Africa.
USATD will continue sharing updates from the field as site visits and meetings across the region continue!
